Ahenger, Robert Daniel
Robert Daniel Ahenger, age 59 and formerly of Waterford, died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home in Erie on Sunday, August 7, 2011. Born in Erie on September 2, 1951, he was one of four children of the late Clarence Robert and Helen Pett Ahenger.
Dan grew up in Waterford and graduated from Fort LeBoeuf High School. He was an accomplished musician playing the piano, organ, and guitar professionally for many years at venues including the Pocono Mountains and a popular cruise line. He also loved the outdoors and camping and fishing. Currently he was employed as an associate at Walmart.
Survivors in Dan’s family include his daughter, Jennifer Moran and her husband John, and their daughters Jessica and Jocelyn, all of Indianapolis, IN; his siblings- Sherry Simkins of Los Angeles, CA, Jack Ahenger of Erie, and Christine Farmer and her husband Steve of Richmond, VA; and his nieces and nephews- Alex, Ian, Shaina, and Heather.
A memorial service will be held at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Fr. Thomas Whitman of All Saints Parish.
