Beverly Jean was born February 21, 1927 to Lloyd and Gemina (Lien) Larson in Ordway, SD. She graduated from Columbia High School in 1945 and attended Northern State College before teaching school near Huffton, SD. She always believed that education was invaluable and often said, “no one can take away an education.” She married Leonard Odde on June 19, 1949 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Aberdeen, they were married for 52 years before his passing in 2001. They lived in Aberdeen as well as Wahpeton, ND, Gwinner, ND, Fargo, ND, and returned to Aberdeen in 1978. She worked at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital until she retired in 1992. Bev was an avid golfer and played in leagues as a member of Moccasin Creek. She enjoyed being a member of a P.E.O. chapter and playing bridge with her many friends.

Beverly loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bev left us with joyful memories filled with golf and card games, summers at the family cabin near Perham, MN, and an abundance of love. She amazed her family and friends with her determination, courage and humor. She always had smile for everyone or a joke even when she wasn’t feeling well. She will be missed dearly.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents (Lloyd and Gemina), her husband (Leonard) her sister (Loretta Lueb), brothers (Francis and Lloyd Larson) and great-grandson (Evan Odde).

Grateful for having shared Beverly’s life are her sister Helen (Archie) Daly of Aberdeen, SD, brothers Merle (Corine) Larson of Sioux Falls, SD, and Jerry (Paulette) Larson of Sioux Falls, SD; her children Greg (Nancy) Odde of Aberdeen, SD, Sandra (Steve) Doyle of Hastings, MN, Victoria Odde of San Diego, CA, and Ramona (Dan) Oberlander of Isanti, MN; grandchildren Chris Odde, Kirby Odde, Kelsey Doyle, Connor Doyle, Shana Reller, and Deena Oberlander; great grandchildren Parker and Ashlynn (Chris). We feel honored to carry on her legacy.

Honorary casket bearers will be her grandchildren.
