Passed away Thursday at the St. Vincent Heart Center, Carmel.
Son of John and Edith Perkins Abney.
Married Lynnea J Larsen-Edwards July 23, 1994 at Calvary Chapel of Crawfordsville. She survives.
Also surviving are children children Debbie (Jim) Dixon, Candy Burns, Rose Ramsey, Mike (Jean) Jr., Jason (Shelly), Julie and Chris Abney; step-son, Ryan Edwards; siblings Dewey "Dude", Terry (Becky) and Lawrence (Phyllis) Abney andPam (Bill) McIntyre; sister-in-law Judy Abney; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Gary Abney.
He worked several jobs over the years, but was most content working on his lathe creating beautiful bowls and vases that adorn the walls and shelves of businesses and homes throughout the United States and many other countries.
He was always a lover of nature and was an avid hunter winning many trophies for competition ‘coon hunting.
His love for the Lord Jesus Christ was obvious to anyone coming in contact with him. He enjoyed teaching and deeply desired to share the Word of God with others, wanting everyone to experience the love and freedom he had experienced through the saving grace of the Jesus Christ.
Celebration of Life service 11am Wednesday, March 13 at Calvary Chapel of Crawfordsville with Pastor Dave Keesee officiating.
Visitation 4-8pm Tuesday and one hour prior to service.
Memorial donations to Calvary Chapel Missions.
