Mattie Clyde Lynn was born September 4, 1928, in Seminole County, Georgia. Her parents, Henry Byron Lynn and Lizzie Burke Lynn have preceded her in death. Mattie married the love of her life, Charles H. Barbree, Jr., who died May 18, 1998. She was a Christian who loved her Lord and Savior and was a member of West Bainbridge Baptist Church. Mattie never came across a stranger. Strangers were just friends she had not yet met. She loved people. Mattie loved to work in her yard and produced beautiful flowers. She was a very talented fisherman. She would catch fish when no one else could. Mattie loved animals, especially dogs. She was so proud of each of her children. She loved them all, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, deeply. Mattie Clyde Barbree will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Mattie Barbree is survived by her son, Charles Hilton and Nancy Brown Barbree and daughter, Shelia Barbree Ramer and James E. Ramer, of Bainbridge, Georgia; granddaughter, Michelle Barbree Mays and Derrik Mays of Monticello, Florida; grandsons, Brian H. Barbree of Bainbridge, and James “Jay” E. Ramer, Jr. and Megan White Ramer of Braselton, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Avrie Brianna Barbree and Ava Ryleigh Ramer; and special nieces, nephews and greats. Mrs. Barbree was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Audrey Lynn Jerkins and Lillian Lynn Evans.
