Elmer A. Beilke, 93, passed away Mon., March 11, 2013, in SwedishAmerican Hospital. Elmer was born Oct. 16, 1919, in Stillman Valley, IL; son of Fritz and Hilka (Johnson) Beilke and farmed with his family in Stillman Valley. He graduated from Byron High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corp., 4th Marine Division, at the rank of corporal, during WWII at the Battle of Iwo Jima. Elmer married Jeanette Laws on Nov. 13, 1982 in Rockford. Jeanette passed away Aug. 26, 1983. He enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Ogle County Farm Bureau.
Survived by nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, wife Jeanette and brother, Harold.
