Obituary of Donald A. Callear
Donald A. "Don" Callear, 85, of Athens Twp., PA passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Robert Packer Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born on August 6, 1933 in Sayre, PA the son of the late Clinton and Florence (Snyder) Callear.

Don was a graduate of Athens Area High School. He was a Veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean War. Upon his return, he went to work at the Ingersoll Rand in Athens, as a Bench Press Operator, until his retirement. While employed he served as the President of the Union and President of the Service Club. Don was a member of the Athens United Methodist Church.

Don enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, woodworking, and camping until his health prevented him from doing those activities. He loved watching NASCAR and was an avid Bill Elliott fan. Most of all, Don enjoyed his home and spending time with his family. Each morning, he loved sharing his coffee time with his son Mike and the times he was surrounded by his family were his happiest moments.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years Phylis Callear, son David Callear, daughter Terri Donlin, brother and sister-in-law Lavern and Phyllis Callear, sister Ardena Bodine, sisters-in-law Penny Callear and Barbara Callear.

Donald is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Michael and Nancy Callear of Athens, PA, son-in-law Edward Donlin, grandchildren Heather Callear of Athens, PA, Clinton and Amanda Callear of Rome, PA, Lindsay and Mike Gorman of Charlotte, NC, Lesley and Joseph Morey of Chemung, NY, James and Caitlin Callear of Athens, PA, Hashly Callear of Litchfield, PA, and Craig Callear of Athens, PA, great-grandchildren Emalie, Olivia, Mara, Makenna, Madilyn, Molly, Skyler, Ashley, Hannah, Nicholas, Issac, and Caleb. He is also survived by brothers Jack Callear of Sayre, PA and Chuck Callear of Athens, PA, sister-in-law Herthel Campbell of Litchfield, PA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 12pm-1pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at the funeral home at 1pm with the Rev. Linda Rogers officiating.

Burial will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Towanda, PA at the convenience of the family.
