Obit. Muller, Mary (Elsen) 1895-1991
Mrs. John B. (Mary) Muller, 95, of Remsen, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 1991 at Happy Siesta Nursing Home after a brief illness.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Rev. John J. McGuirk officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under direction of the Fisch Funeral Home.
Mrs. Muller, the former Mary Elsen, was born April 28, 1895 in Medernach, Luxembourg to Lawrence and Anna Elsen. She was raised and educated at Medernach, Luxembourg, where she was also married. In 1921 the couple moved, with their daughter Cecilia, to Remsen where she had lived since. She entered Happy Siesta Nursing Home on Sept. 1, 1988.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Louis (Cecilia) Goergen of Remsen and Mrs. Edward (Leona) Zolnierzak of Rankin, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, on June 12, 1948; two sons, John (Bud) Muller and Roger Muller; three brothers; a sister; two grandsons; and one great-great-grand daughter.
Casket bearers were Dennis and Ed Goergen, Bob Sohm, Richard Van Dam, Bob and Tom Zolnierzak.
