Margaret Murphy Caldwell, age 74, of 505 North Fifth Ave., Rome, GA Passed away on Thursday May 31, 2007 following an extended illness. Mrs. Caldwell was born on July 6, 1932 in Cave Spring, GA to the Late Jeptha Washington & Georgia Marie Pierce Murphy. She was a member of the Hill Crest Baptist Church, a member of the Victory Sunday School Class, a member of the Keenager's & was a member of the Church Choir. She was retired from The Floyd County School System and prior to her illness, had been associated with both the Silver's McClellan Store and the National Linen Service. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her Husband, Mr. Alfred Clarence Caldwell, a Brother, Grady Clifford Murphy and a Sister, Mattie Lou Adams. Mrs. Caldwell is survived by Her Daughter & Son in law, Mrs. Marie and Rev. Chris Hearne of Cedartown. Two Grandchildren, Matthew Hearne & Amber Hearne, also of Cedartown. Five Brothers, Arthur Murphy, Allen Murphy, Clarence Murphy & His Wife Lynette & Harris Murphy & His Wife Beatrice, all of Rome, GA and William Murphy of Marietta, GA. Four Sisters, Gertrude Hampton of Redbank, TN, Gracie Lee Murphy of Rome, Frances Brooks of Armuchee, and Martha Clemons of Centre, AL. Several Nieces & Nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Mrs. Margaret Murphy Caldwell will be conducted on Saturday June 2, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. from the Hill Crest Baptist Church with Rev. Stanley Smith, Rev. Chris Hearne and Dr. James Guy Officiating. Interment will follow in the Cave Spring City Cemetery with Mr. Parnick Jennings, Sr. conducting committal. Mrs. Caldwell will Lie in State at the Hill Crest Baptist Church on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. The Family will receive Friends on Friday night June 1, 2007 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. At the Jennings Funeral Home, Heritage Chapel, North Broad Street, Rome, GA.
