She was born July 12, 1925 to Benjamin and Larna Anderson Christensen in Bear River City. She was married to Lee Clifford Peery, Jr. Irene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Irene attended grade school in Bear River and high school in Tremonton. Following high school she did clerical work in the various places she lived. Among her places of residence were Ogden and Brigham City; San Francisco, California; Tremonton and Tooele; Gardena, California; Idaho Falls, Pocatello, and Soda Springs, Idaho; and Salt Lake City.
Irene had a great love of horses, especially in her youth, and in the following years always had a dog or two on her lap and in her life. She loved going with her sister, Sharon, and taking her nieces and nephews on horseback to Upper Palisades Lake in Idaho. She was an avid reader and excellent seamstress. She also became a loyal viewer of Fox News.
Irene is survived by two sisters, LaDean (Dee) Bellmore of Salt Lake City and Sharon Kofoed of Idaho Falls. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, two sisters, and husband.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Rocky Mountain Hospice for their loving care and support.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Oak Hill Ward Chapel, 895 West Murray Taylorsville Road (4765 South), Taylorsville, with a viewing prior from 10:00-10:45 a.m.
Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Bear River City Cemetery.
