Ollie J Bercaw, 57, died at 9:30 PM Monday at his home, 330 Walker St, following a week’s illness of heart disease. His condition, however, was thought to be improving and death was unexpected.
Mr Bercaw was born in Vanceburg, KY, May 7, 1886, the son of Jerry and Mary Bercaw. He had lived Bellefontaine for 10 years and was an engineer at the Citizens Ice Co.
He was married April 16, 1913, to Ola Hullinger, of Huntsville, in Covington, KY. She survives with a son, Donald Bercaw, 513 Hamilton St; a daughter, Mrs William Krites, Austin, TX, and two grandsons. Remaining also are his mother, Mrs Mary Bercaw, of DeGraff; one sister, Mrs Mary Rogers, Degraff, and 4 brothers, Ralph and Frank Bercaw, DeGraff; Charles Bercaw, stationed with the Seabees of the US Navy at San Francisco, CA and William Bercaw, Springfield.
The deceased was associated with the Fraternal Order of Eagles and was a member of the Church of Christ.
The body will be taken from the Kennedy Funeral Home to the late residence Wednesday afternoon. Funeral arrangements have not been completed, pending arrival Wednesday evening of the daughter from Texas, and word from Charles Bercaw in California.
