He was born February 26, 1941 in Henderson, the son of the late German Caldwell and Reesie Lee Redmon Armour. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1958 and served as class president. He operated heavy equipment and was in the Timber Business most of his adult life. He enjoyed operating heavy machinery, whether on his job site or landscaping all of his families’ properties. He built his own three story house as well as other home projects. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He married Janice Capps April 24, 1987. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.
His motto was “God has made a beautiful day, enjoy life every day, and be happy.”
Mr. Armour is survived by his wife, Janice Diane Capps Armour; a son, Joey Harris (Angela)and three daughters, Beth Ann Armour, Holly McEarl (Jeff) and Emily Brown (Todd) all of Henderson; eight grandchildren, Blake Harris, Mitch Harris, Logan Malone (Zach), Cole McEarl, Ben Brown, Jake Brown and Will Brown and two great grandchildren, Jaelyn Harris and Novalee Harris; two sisters, Sylvia Grissom and Gloria Sherrill (Billy Jack) all of Henderson; three sister-in-laws, Gwendolyn Armour, Lala Armour and Lela Armour.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, LaDell Armour, Warren Armour and Ishmael Armour and a sister, Crystal McEarl.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Glenn Harris and Logan Malone officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery.
