Frances P. Leadill, 88, of Springfield, formerly of Tremont and Jacksonville, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Springfield Healthcare Center. Born July 3, 1912, in Jacksonville to Ezra and Lena McHenry Hart

She married Robert E. Sample July 9, 1928. He died from a work accident in June 1929

She later married Henry James Leadill Jr. in December 1931. He died in 1990.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Lois Sample Hovey; one granddaughter; one brother; and five sisters.

Surviving are one son, Donald of Tremont; one daughter, Jeanette (and Russell) Fagg of Pleasant Plains; two sisters, Elsie Marie Stuber and Grace Stuber, both of Tremont; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a saleswoman at Walker Furniture Store and later at the Emporium, both in Jacksonville. She later moved to Tremont, where she managed the Alamac Motel.
