Michael Rowan Appleton, 77 of Lubbock passed away Monday, September 24, 2018. He was born June 18, 1941 to Bennie Earl and Laura Kathleen (Anderson) Appleton in Lubbock. Michael graduated from Lubbock High School in 1959. He married Angela Denise (Mullins) Appleton in 1984 in Bedford, Texas. Michael worked as a painting contractor until retirement. He was a wonderful husband, he was Angela's best friend as well as a loving father, grandfather and friend.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Angela; one daughter, Amber and husband Grant Peters; five sons, Vaughn and wife Dana Appleton, Sean and wife Michelle Appleton, Sven and wife Carolyn Appleton, Ian and wife Melissa Appleton, James Cody Appleton; brother, Ivan Appleton; niece, Gayla and husband Shae Trammell and family; eighteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and two on the way.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Kathleen; sister, Linda Jones.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.
