Republic - Judith Kay "Judy" Ankrom, age 74, of Republic, Missouri, retired to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, February 28, 2019 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. She was born on April 14, 1944 in Wishart, Missouri, a community close to Bolivar, Missouri, the daughter of James G. and Frances M. Staas.
Judy worked with Dale and Carolyn Meadors at the Bolivar Floor Covering for several years. She was a very compassionate lady, who loved unconditionally, and it was these qualities that led her to become a Funeral Director and Manager of Meadors Funeral Home in Republic for 35 years. Judy also was a long-time board member of the Republic Housing Authority.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Virginia Patterson, Mary Fisher, and Betty Wilson Staas.
Judy is survived by her two sons, Mark Ankrom, and Kevin Ankrom and his wife Deena; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kaden, and Gage; two brothers, Bill Staas and Roy Staas; five sisters, Ruth Ross, Jean Hill, Dottie Sue Anderson, Linda Smock, and Debby Militscher; several nieces and nephews; other relatives, and many, many dear friends.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019 in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, also in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery, Wishart. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Judy's name to the Republic Pregnancy Resource Center, 291 U.S. Hwy 60 W, Republic, MO 65738.
