Ervin C. “Robbie” Hillard, Jr., 90, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

He was born in Portsmouth, VA and has lived most of his life in Jacksonville. He graduated from Camp Lejeune High School and Western Carolina University, receiving a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. His hobbies included singing, playing piano and trumpet and was an active member at Sovereign Grace Family Church, until his health declined. Mr. Hillard also served as a Ruling Elder for 12 years at North Shore Presbyterian Church. He was called “Ralph” by his fellow church members and many knew him as Robbie Robinson. He retired on May 1, 1997 from St. Regis, now known as International Paper Company with 30 years service.

Robbie was preceded in death by his son, Mark Hillard; granddaughter, Mariah Medders; sister, Kay Feuer and 2 brothers, Earl Hillard and Milton Lee Robinson.

Surviving family include his wife of 60 years, Charlotte Hillard; 2 daughters: Laurie Hillard Joiner (J. Hansford) and Brenda Medders (Kevin); 1 granddaughter: Audrey Bilotta; 1 sister: Joy Hopkins and a host of friends.

Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Evergreen Cemetery (Gate # 5) with Dr. Keith Fosky, officiating.
