ANOTHER CONFEDERATE PASSED AWAY

James A. Goode, age 88 died March 12, at his home in the Payne Gap community, in Mills County. His health has been falling for more than a year and his death was not unexpected by his family. He was a member of the Southern M.E. Church since his early days and died strong in that belief. Was also a member of the Confederate Camp at Goldthwaite. Was an honorable, upright citizen and well known all over Mills and adjoining counties, that being his home for more than thirty years. He leaves a wife and four children, Emmett and Harvey Goode of Mills County, Arthur Goode and Mrs. T. J. Burnham of San Saba county besides three sisters and a host of relatives. He was laid to rest in the Payne Gap cemetery by the side of his daughter, Mrs. T.E. Mayo, who died less than a year ago.
