Lyman G. Wakefield was born about 1811 in New York according to the 1850 census. He married Sarah Ann Ludington in about 1830 in Dutchess, New York. In New York, they had two children: Almira and Elizabeth By 1840, they had moved to Clinton, Ohio where they had five more children: Joseph, William, Lydia, Sarah, and Benjamin. Lyman died in 1851 in Clinton, Ohio. Lyman is mentioned in the Clinton County, OH Cemetery Records by Stanley Blum, but there is no mention of his burial locations. I have included him here because Sugar Grove is the biggest of the old Clinton county cemeteries. This memorial also allows me to link their family. Keep in mind, there are old Clinton cemeteries that have suffered vandalism & neglect over the years. One was bulldozed by an adjacent landowner.
