Roland John Henry Sr. (Chirp), age 86 of Seguin, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 5-7 P.M. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Kingsbury Cemetery in Kingsbury, Texas with Reverend Jeremy Roy officiating. Roland was born on July 25, 1932 in Kingsbury to John H. and Marie Elizabeth (Ptak) Henry. Roland was a high school graduate of Dowdy High School, and attended TLC, where he excelled in sports. Roland retired from Conoco/ Phillips and Pat Baker in Kingsbury, Texas. In retirement he enjoyed spending time on his Henry Hills Ranch with his cattle. Roland is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Olive Mae Atzer, brothers, Marvin Harms Henry, and Calvin Miles Henry. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Nita Henry; sons, Happy Henry and wife Millie, Scott Henry and wife Marilyn; grandchildren Denise Lyssy and husband Brian, Anthony Henry, Brooke Lakey and husband Corey, and Boone Henry; great-grandchild, Tenley Lyssy; and other loving family members and friends.
