After moving to Houston, he became a Charter member of St. Jerome Catholic Church. He was a skilled craftsman and worked for Hoelscher Weatherstrip Company in Houston and Evans Cabinet and Door in Brenham, Texas.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Clifton had a passion for music, dancing, was a self-taught piano player, and an avid Astros baseball fan. In later years he enjoyed, his family homestead in Frelsburg, traveling, and old western TV shows.
Clifton was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Wilhelmina Schneider, siblings, Alvin Schneider, Ewald and Hilda Schneider, Lee and Tillie Schneider, Arnold and Lydia Schneider, Laura and Oswald Henneke, Erna and Edwin Braden, his wife, Irene Georgia Schneider and one grandson Austin Bradley Schneider.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Schneider of Conroe, Texas, six children, daughter, Diana and James Evans of Brenham, Texas; son, Tommy and Carol Schneider of Bellville, Texas; daughter, Shirley and Casey Crowder of Port Lavaca, Texas; daughter, Kathy and Mark Scott of Round Rock, Texas; son, David and Tracey Schneider of Conroe, Texas; and daughter, Cynthia and Scott Singleton of Houston, Texas; Bill and Vickie Butler, of Spring, Texas; John and Shauna Herford of Nacogdoches, Texas; Susan Kelly of Conroe, Texas; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg.
Funeral services will follow on Saturday, 2:00 pm at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg, TX with Deacon Gerald DuPont officiating.
Burial will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Frelsburg.
