He was born to Joe B. Haney and Leona Murphy Haney.
He moved to Palestine with his wife, Margie Lee Hill in 1971. He owned and operated a gas station in Palestine for over 15 years. He loved to garden and was well known for his love of fast pitch softball.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a brother, Weldon Haney and his parents.
He is survived by his son, Bobby J. Haney II; daughter, Lisa Alford; sister, Betty Sue McNew; 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Michael Johnson, Charles Star II, Case Starr, Cade Starr, Cale Starr and Robby Haney.
