James was a Union Steamfitter and was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Local #51. He was a Korean War Army Veteran and a member of the Williams Shield American Legion Post 43.
He was the beloved father of James R. Babin, Jr., and devoted grandfather of Nicole Babin. He was also the brother of the late Louis T. Babin, Jr., Beverly J. Babin, Lorraine M. Hartnett and Jacqueline Kelly.
His funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 10 am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Burial with military honors in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
