Daughter of Archibald McKay and wife Mary McNeill McKay. Sarah's mother was from Robeson County, North Carolina, daughter and heir of Neill McNeill who died there in 1837.

Sarah married William A. McRae on 15 February 1857 in Telfair County, Georgia. They had these known children: Cullen, Alexander, Mary, Watt, Effie, James & George McRae.

The Commissioners being duly sworn by the Justice of the Peace proceeded to make partition as follows:
Lot 3 - 47 acres valued at $376 to the heirs of Mary McKay in severalty
"Heirs of Mary McNeill McKay deceased - Alexander McEachen and wife Susannah, Catharine McKay, Archibald McMillan and wife Margaret, William A. McRae and wife SARAH, William McMillan & wife Mary; Charles H. Harrell and wife Elizabeth; John W. Coffee & wife Jane; Thomas J. Smith and wife Cornelia "Neely" Ann & John McKay."

Alternate dates of birth & death seen are 04 October 1830 - 28 February 1890. Research is ongoing to validate the correct dates.
