William L. Gilstrap, 86, of 100 Poinsett Ave., died Friday, April 23, 1999, at his home.
Mr. Gilstrap was a son of the late James Hardy and Susan Janie Gilstrap and he was born in Pickens County. He retired from Singer Co. and worked several years for Sir Shirtmakers, Inc.
He was a member of East Pickens Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter and son in law of Easley; a daughter-in-law of Liberty; 2 sisters of Easley; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Gilstrap was predeceased by a son James William Gilstrap; brothers, J. B. Gilstrap, Choice Gilstrap, and a halfbrother, Charlie Gilstrap; sisters, Sally Adcox, Ocie McCall, Betty Mae Brooks and Ora Howe.
Honorary escort will be the Men's Bible Class and Fellowship Class of East Pickens Baptist Church.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Dillard Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens. Visitation will be from 10 till 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made t the American Heart Association, South Carolina Affiliate, Inc. Upcountry Region, 301 Univerisity Ridge, Suite 5000, Greenville, S.C. 29601-3686.
