Thelma Lucille Tyler, 91, of Robert E. Lee Drive, Spotsylvania died on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at the Louisa Health & Rehab Care.

Born August 29, 1927 in Spotsylvania she was the daughter of the late Ellick Alsop and Fannie Corbin Alsop. She is also predeceased by her husband John Otis Tyler Sr. She was a member of the Little Mine Road Church in Spotsylvania.

She is survived by six daughters Jean Herndon of Fredericksburg, Laura Lucas and husband William of Brentwood, MD, Mary Minor and husband David of Spotsylvania, Clara Tyler of Sterling, Darlene Abubakar of Ft. Washington, Md, and Glenda Tyler of Spotsylvania; two sons John Tyler Jr. and wife Annette of Culpeper, and Carlton Tyler and wife Lucy of Herndon; sixteen grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two sisters Dora Jordan of Bowling Green, and Christine Minor of Ashland.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at the Preddy Funeral Chapel, Orange with interment to be private at the Alsop Family Cemetery in Spotsylvania. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. The Rev. Fred Sales will officiate. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.

**NOTE** I'm pretty sure Thelma will be buried in the "Ben Corbin Family Cemetery" and not the "Alsop Family Cemetery" as listed in her obituary. Her parents and husband are buried in the "Ben Corbin Family Cemetery".
