Johnnie Dale Turner passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Ada at the age of 77. Dale was born April 16, 1941 in Ragtown, Oklahoma to Burley Turner and Mae Madden Turner.

Dale graduated from Moss public schools. He attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a Masters degree. He married Kathryn Meadors February 17, 1962 at the Prairie View Baptist Church in Hughes County. Dale was in the teaching profession for 30 years and taught in Holdenville schools for 21 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Holdenville. Dale served as District 24 State Representative from 1996-2008, and was a Lions club member, former National President of the National Vocational Ag Teachers Association, President of Holdenville Chamber of Commerce and President of Hughes County Retired Teachers.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Kathryn Turner of the home, daughter Tammy Ann Griffin and her husband Johnny of Holdenville, Oklahoma, grandchildren; Boone Griffin, Ashlyn and her husband Calupe Byerly of Holdenville, great-grandchildren; Jaylee Griffin of Norman, Cainen and Stetson Byerly of Holdenville, sisters; Jean Grimm of Yukon, Linda Harmon and her husband Vernon of Broken Arrow, nieces and other relatives, friends and special friends Devin and Beverly Chancey and Ollie Blakley.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday February 21, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Holdenville with Pastor Jason Yarbrough officiating. Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery.
