Phyllis May Sweers Julien passed away on Valentine's morning at the age of 89. Phyllis was the daughter of Elroy and Alma Dickson Sweers of 60 Rockton Street, Amsterdam, NY. Phyllis graduated from Union University in Albany, NY as a nurse. She worked for various nursing homes in the Worcester, MA area and retired in 1992.

She married Robert Joseph Julien of Albany, NY in November of 1950 at the age of 20. He was the love of her life. They lost their only infant daughter (Michelle Ann Julien), at birth in July of 1967. Phyllis was a great support to her husband who was an Executive Director for the American Red Cross. In their mid-twenties, Phyllis and Robert volunteered for the Colonie Fire Department, Colonie, New York.

Phyllis left behind a son, (Mark J. Julien) and a daughter, (Susan). She also left behind four grandchildren. Thomas J. Julien who predeceased her in death in 1991. He was the infant son of Mark J. Julien. Grandchildren: Brittany Julien, Michael and Tara.

Phyllis was known most for her outgoing personality. She was a very sociable person who would laugh at almost anything that came her way. A great sense of humor. Her favorite was reading books, lots and lots of books. She hosted home parties for the American Red Cross, planned variety showers for weddings, and loved to cook and sew. She also enjoyed camping, baseball, animals and nature. She also spent time at the Julien's summer cottage in Lake George, NY with her husband Robert and his parents (Joe and Sadie). She was truly an american classic beauty in her day. Raised in the 1940s as a teenager, and a young pretty woman in the 1950s. Phyllis was very proper and formal in the way she acted and did things. I guess a thing of the generation she grew up in.

Goodnight Mom, I'm going to miss you. I know you are happy now. You are finally where you want to be. You are free from it all now. Your with Jesus! And Dad too.

Love, daughter

Why does death always have to be so hard. So sad to see the one's you love all your life leave. And like you always said "we can't live forever you know". It just doesn't seem real your gone. It just doesn't.

To have felt love is to feel the pain of a loss of a life gone from here forever.
