Mr. Bobby Charles Boatright of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Tuesday evening, February 12, 2019, surrounded by his loving family in the same room where he was born over 86 years ago. He was born September 6, 1932 in Carrollton, Georgia, the son of the late Early B. Boatright and the late Mary Alice Williams Boatright. He was a self-employed small engine mechanic, was a veteran of the United States Army, and was a Deacon and faithful member of Cross Plains Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jerry B. Johnson; sisters: Dorothy Muse, Clovice Williams, Nell Wilson, and Sarah Dukes; and brothers: Homer Boatright, Darrell Boatright, and Donald Boatright. Survivors include his loving wife of over 63 years, Betty Jordan Boatright; daughters and sons-in-law: Kay B. & Gary Herring of Roopville, Susan B. & Rev. Mark Rice of Carrollton, and Tina B. & Troy Nixon, also of Carrollton; grandchildren: Andrew Rice, Lori & Jacob Blankinship, and Lindy & Kyle Altman; and great, grandchildren: Kylee & Lexie Blankinship and Hunter Altman. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 15, 2019 at 2:00 PM from Cross Plains Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Freeman and Rev. Jason Suits officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Andrew Rice, Kyle Altman, Jacob Blankinship, Joshua Boatright, Scott Pope, Roger Dukes, Jeff Latimer, and Michael Strickland. Honorary pallbearers will be, Tim Boatright, Jessie Camp, Glenn Hill, Matthew Wilson, Jimmy Boatright, Rex Dukes, Mark Cole, Craig Cook, Hunter Altman, and any ministers in attendance. Interment will follow in Cross Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mark Rice presiding.
