Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ada Arney, sixty-seven, of Conover, Route Two - the County home section - who died at the home at 3:20 am Sunday, were conducted at Penelope Baptist church, Longview, at two-thirty o'clock this afternoon, with the Rev. J. Louis Price and the Rev. Fred W. Womack officiating. Burial was made in the Bethel Baptist church cemetery.

Mrs. Arney was born in Burke county August 14, 1882, a daughter of the late Julius and Julia Anna Hildebran Abee.

Mrs. Arney's husband, John Hamilton Arney, died March 22, 1938, and she made her home with a son, Ralph C. Arney. Also surviving are three other sons; J.D. Arney of Richmond, Va., John W. Arney of Charlotte, and H.D. Arney of Hickory; three daughters, Mrs. C.P. Abee of Valdese, Mrs. H.C. Lafone of Newton, and Mrs. R.C. Sigmon of Hickory; two sisters, Mrs. Guy Frye and Mrs. Luther Frye of Hickory; four brothers, L.S., John and Horace Abee of Hickory, and Oscar Abee of Asheville; and twenty grandchildren.
