Larry Lee Cravatt, a proud Chickasaw citizen and elder who crafted a life filled with family, friends, University of Oklahoma football, fishing, hunting and music, passed away Feb. 12, 2019. He was 74. Born in Claremore, Oklahoma, May 29, 1944 to Ada Catherine Cravatt and Henderson Jack Cravatt, he was one of 13 children born to the couple on the family farm.

Reared with a steely respect for hard work and accomplishing personal goals, he worked in several industries that specialized in supplying raw materials for varying construction projects. Mr. Cravatt was associated with Dolese, Meridian Aggregates and the Chickasaw Nation before retiring in 2018. Mr. Cravatt would earn a master's degree in counseling from East Central University and served his country during the Vietnam War from 1965-67. He was friendly and gregarious, always ready to assist anyone in need. He served as a pastor for various churches, and would offer counseling, spiritual reflection and encouragement.

He was the father of four sons and a daughter; Larry Cravatt, Jr., McAlester, Oklahoma; Phillip Cravatt, Ada, Oklahoma; Sood Cravatt, El Dorado, Kansas; Lee Cravatt and Shanda Loper, Sulphur, Oklahoma; and daughter, Stormy Busby, Davis, Oklahoma. Aside from his children, cheering on the Sooners, slipping off to that special fishing hole or singing and playing guitar - widely acknowledged as an accomplished musician -

Mr. Cravatt was lovingly devoted to more than 20 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Cravatt is also survived by nine brothers and sisters that include David Cravatt, Ardmore, Oklahoma; Lucille Loman and her husband, Howard, Antlers, Oklahoma; Jerry Cravatt, Savannah, Georgia; Marilyn Lewis, Irving, Texas; Norma Wallace and her husband, James, Sulphur, Oklahoma; Judy Poolaw and her husband, Flint, Phoenix, Arizona; Shirley Lewis, Sulphur, Oklahoma; Tommy Cravatt, Neosho, Missouri, and Tim Cravatt, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Grandchildren include Cristie Cravatt, Veda Cravatt, Kiona Cravatt, Raynie Cravatt, Phillip Cravatt II, Patrick Cravatt, Darian Cravatt, Sasha Preast, Morgan Keck, Paisley Cravatt, Levi Dill, Ben Dill, Kaleb Dill, Taloa Dill, Vyse Dill, Destiny Dill, Gage Dill, and Braxton Dill. Great grandchildren include Brody Ketcher, Jaxon Camacho, Zayne Keck, Darvin Gilliam, Kellen Keck, and Mason Keck.
Mr. Cravatt also is survived by a special companion, Donna Iti Tupa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Norman, Albert and Gene Cravatt and a grandchild, Jamie Cravatt.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2019 at the Chickasaw Nation Community Center in Ada. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Ada.
