Mrs. Emma Spencer, of 2095 Whitfield Way, passed away at her home on Sunday, June 14th. Born in Clarksdale, Missouri, on June 3, 1883, she had been a resident of Reno for 31 years. Mrs. Spencer was a charter member of the First Christian Church, the Mizpah Rebekah Lodge No. 26, the Golden Age Club and was a past Oracle of Royal Neighbors of America.
She was survived by three daughters, Mrs. Nita Lodice Bartles of Reno, Mrs. Nancy Cox of Norcatur, Kansas, and Mrs. Bertha Williams of Los Angeles, California; two son, Willis Spencer of Westminster, Colorado, and Fred Spencer of Los Angeles; 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Friends called at the Walton Funeral Home on Tuesday. Funeral services were held at the First Christian Church on Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.
