Walter Stephen Gower, 68, died yesterday at his home, 2630 Lode street. He had been in poor health for the past year. A native of Maine, Gower came to Santa Cruz in 1947 from Oakland, where he had lived for more than 22 years. He was a carpenter by trade, and an active member of the Advent Christian church. The survivors are his wife, Susie Gower of Santa Cruz; two sons, Walter Gower of Maine and Elmer Rudolph Gower of Hayward; his grandsons, William R. Gower, Walter Raymond Gower Jr. and Albert Gower; four sisters. Annie Cyr of Connecticut, and Mattie Morgan, Flora Morgan and Beulah McPhetres of Maine, and two brothers, Enoch E. Gower of Maine and Ernest R. Cower of Connecticut. Funeral services ill be conducted at White's chapel tomorrow at 2 p. m., Rev. Clayton Dilworth officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood cemetery.
