NEWTON, Sara Darling passed away after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's disease on February 12, 2014, at the age of 80 years in Sacramento, CA. She was born on February 27, 1933 in Sacramento, CA. She was a long time resident of Sacramento County and a graduate of San Juan High School class of 1951. She was a retired cosmetologist and 50 year member of Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening and was talented in many types of needle work. She had a beautiful voice and loved singing in her church choir as well as living one day at a time with the Lord throughout her life. She (Nana Sara) loved babies, her own; grands; great grands and loved working in the church nursery with the babies. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Newton; mother and father, Wilmeth and Norman Bailiff; sister, Beverly Babcock and brother, Michael Seekel, first husband Gerald Clow. She is survived by her brother, Robert Seekel of Grants Pass, OR; daughters, Susan Hatch of Grizzly Flat, CA., and Patsy Pavan of Citrus Heights, CA; son, Norman R. Clow of Auburn, CA; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Sara, Jory, Jessica, Jammie, John, Joseph, Zachary and six great-grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held.
