John Henry Bramlet was born in Nevaro County, Texas, March 19, 1861. With a number of other relatives he came to Texas County, Oklahoma, in 1904 and filed on a homestead near Hooker. For the past 17 years he has been in the employment of the Rock Island Railroad Company. For a number of years he was section foreman at Optima and Goodwell. About six years ago, he moved to Sayre, Oklahoma, where he served in the same capacity until the end came at the age of 68 yrs., 10 months and 16 days.
Years ago his father passed away. He remained at home with his mother until she passed away just a few years ago.
He leaves one sister, Mrs. Alice McDonald, Sayre Okla., one brother, R. M. Bramlet, Ardmore, Okla., a nephew, John H. McDonald, of Guyman, and a number of other nephew and nieces.
"Uncle John" as he was commonly known to all railroad employees and to his friends, was converted in 1879 and united with the Methodist church of which he has been a faithful member for fifty years. All who know him thought of him as a true and conscientious man.
The funeral servies were held from the methodist church of jGuymon Saturday afternoon with Rev. W. H. Dellinger, the local llpastor in charge, many friends of the McDonalds family being in attendance and following the remains to the Guymon cemetery, where interment was made.
