A correspondent at Clayton [Illinois] writes that James Plew was killed there Tuesday morning while attempting to drive a team attached to a wagon, at the residence of William Staker. The horses ran away, throwing Mr. Plew from the wagon. He died, shortly after being taken to the house, from the injuries received. He leaves a son there, and other children in Missouri, to mourn his loss. The remains were interred at Mt. Pleasant, Brown county, Wednesday.
NOTE: He was buried next to his wife at Buckhorn Cemetery, Buckhorn, Brown Co., IL, not at Mt. Pleasant as the obituary stated.
