William "Herman" Lister, 87, former resident of Buncombe Road, died Saturday, March 6, 1993 at Piedmont Lutheran Health Care, following a period of declining health.
Born February 19, 1906 in Greenville, he was the son of the late Andrew Jackson and Elminie Masters Lister. Mr. Lister retired from F. W. Poe Manufacturing Company after more than 50 years. He was a member of Buncombe Road Baptist Church.
His wife, Renty Joe Sanders Lister, died October 12, 1987.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Jo Ann) Ruiz of Marietta, GA; two sons, Hovie F. Lister of Atlanta, GA, and Jack N. Lister of Greenville, SC; three sisters, Helen Lister, Gladys Lister, and Lucille L. Hicks, all of Greenville, SC; two brothers, A. Cinyard Lister and Louie B. Lister, both of Greenville, SC; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday at the Downtown Chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The families will be at their respective homes.
