Three men are dead and a woman are wounded as a result of a gun battle this afternoon at 4 o'clock on Wooten's creek, Leslie county, seven miles from Hyden, the county seat. The dead: Will Joseph, Harris Engle and Finley Bailey. Mrs. Warren Joseph is suffering from a gunshot wound in her abdomen and Dr. R. L Collins, of Hazard, was summoned to attend her. It was reported here that Will Joseph, his son, Warren Joseph, and Warren's wife were on their way home from work in a cornfield when Engle and Balley approached them.
