Wayne Leon Costin, 89, St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at his home.

He was born on Friday, March 15, 1929 in Martinsville, Indiana, to the late John A. and Mary (Williams) Costin.

Leon attended Martinsville High School and served his country for over 20 years in the United States Air Force. He retired in April 1973 as a Technical Sergeant. After retirement he worked for the Pinellas County Highway Department in St. Petersburg, Florida. Leon enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing shuffle board and the dog track.

Survivors are his sons, Charles “Chuck” Costin of Martinsville and James “Jim” Costin and wife Sarah of St. Petersburg, Florida; grandchildren, Wayne Costin and wife Cynthia, Amanda “Amy” Costin, Charles “Chuckie” Costin, Thomas “Tommy” Costin, Davey Armstrong, Leslie Costin-Pratt, Theresa Costin and Rebecca Costin; great grandchildren, Katie Costin, Jeremy Costin, Caleb Mullis, Haley Mullis, A.J. Pratt and Leila Pratt.

Leon was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa E. “Peg” (Baker) Costin, whom he married on March 17, 1950 and she passed away on September 26, 1995; son, Terry Costin; his parents, John and Mary; brother, John A. Costin.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, Indiana. Visitation will be at Costin Funeral Chapel on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
