Funeral services for John Perry Sr. 71 of Cushing will be Saturday February 2nd at 11am at the Dickie Allen funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at McKnight Cemetery.
Mr. Perry died Wednesday January 30th 2019 in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was born September 29th, 1947 in Nacogdoches, Texas to R. Lee (Rusty) and Hazel Marie Delozier Perry. He lived most of his life in Cushing and was a Baptist. He was a member of Cushing Masonic Lodge #911, was a supporter of the Cushing Youth Backers and 4-H, and helped run the chains at Cushing Football games. Mr. Perry had worked many years as a Propane Truck Driver and also sold fireworks. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandfather Any Delozier. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Donna Kay Perry of Cushing, son Johnny (Kathleen) Perry of Cushing; daughters Donna (Tom) Harvin of Douglass and Dolly (Billy) King of Cushing, sisters Margie Berger of Nacogdoches, JoAnn (Herbert) Hancock of Timpson, Carolyn (Ray) Shaw of Appleby, Oleta Brown of Nacogdoches and Maggie (John) Ball of Nacogdoches, grandchildren Macey (Robert) Griffith, Kayla (Trevor) Tillmon, Jesse (Randy) Birdwell, Kaitlin (Scott) Pierce and Matt (Jami) Harvin as well as great grandchildren Troy Griffith, Lilly Harvin and a Pierce baby "on the way". Pallbearers are Robert Griffith, Hunter Gross, Randy Birdwell, Scott Pierce, Trevor Tillson and Matt Harvin. Honorary pallbearers are Lynn Moore, Jerry Whitaker, Tyson Huckaby, Mike Evans, Billy Perry and Bobby Perry.
