Known to all her family and friends as Lena. She was the daughter of Sherard Mordecai Jacobs and Elizabeth Posey Sherard, of Chambers Co., AL. She was one (1) of ten (10) known siblings.

She was the granddaughter of Pvt. Mordecai Jacob(s), CSA (Company F, 59th Regiment, Alabama Infantry, enlisted by Captain A. F. Zachry. This Company subsequently became Company F, 61st Regiment , Alabama Infantry.), & Sarah Jane Crowder Jacob(s), of Chambers Co., AL.

Lena married Emmett Morgan Bishop, in Newnan, Coweta Co., Georgia, on 03 August 1908. Emmett was the son of Edward Morgan Bishop, and Molly Dunn Bishop. Emmett registered for the war on 05 June 1917, in Aragon, Polk Co., GA.

Lena and Emmett had three (3) known children: Harold Morgan Bishop, Annie Laurie Bishop, and Mary Elizabeth Bishop.
