Isaac P. Browning was born in Kentucky. He went to school through 6th grade before he needed to help his family.

He married Ada Mildred Delavan on October 4, 1893 in Mills, Iowa.

In 1900, Ada and I.P. were farming in Lincoln Township, Harrison County, Iowa. Ada told the Census taker that she had 3 children, all 3 living. The 1900 US Census lists:
Isaac P. 27, head, farmer, b. Sept. 1872, KY
Ada M. 25, wife, b. Nov. 1874, IA
Herbert G., 5, son, b. July, 1894, IA
Alma E., 2, daughter, b. Sept. 1897, AR
Robert G, 3 months, son, b. Feb. 1900, IA

The Brownings were still farming in 1910, in Boyer Township near Woodbine, Iowa. Sadly, Ada said she had 7 children, but only 5 were living. The 1910 US Census lists:
Isaac P., 37, head, farmer, b. KY
Ada M. 35, wife, b. IA
Herbert G. 15, son, b. AR
Alma E., 12, daughter, b. IA
Robert G., 10, son, b. IA
Elinor M., 7, daughter, b. IA
Enid C., 1, daughter, b. IA

The drought of Depression Days was hard on farmers. Isaac always could do carpentry, and from at least 1935 to 1940, he and Ada were living at 109 Weare Street, Boyer, Iowa. The 1940 US Census lists:
Isaac P., 67, head, carpenter, building, b. KY
Ada M. 65, wife, b. IA

They were blessed with a number of children, but sadly three of their children died in infancy, and are buried in Woodbine Cemetery, Iowa.
