Ora (Elliott) Mitchell was born on August 9, 1873 in Laddonia, Audrain County, Missouri, the daughter of George Cadwalder Elliott (1848–1928) and Virginia Nancy (Allison) Elliott (1850–1932).
She was married on October 1, 1900 to Frank Arthur Mitchell (1875–1954), and in both the 1910 and 1920 censuses they were in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, AND in the 1920 census their household included 20-year-old adopted son William A Mitchell. In 1929 Ora and Frank moved to Nashville, Tennessee.
A member of Tulip Street Methodist Church and living at 153 Boscobel Heights, Ora was 74 years old and married when she died at home of a cerebral hemorrhage on October 1, 1947.
Survivors included her husband Frank in Nashville and son W A W Mitchell, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all in Hawaii. {When Ora's husband Frank died in 1954, his obituary listed him as having no survivors.}
Funeral Services were held on October 6th at Cosmopolitan Funeral Home, and burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville.
