Valda A. Mappin, 76, Chase Center, died at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Chase Convalescent Center.

She was born July 3, 1912, in Cass Township, White County, to Carl and Amy Elizabeth Kistler Fry. She was married Nov. 23, 1935, to Robert D. Mappin, who died in October 1957.

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Royal Center.

She was a member of Order of Eastern Star in Roayl Center.

Surviving are a sister, Violet Yount, Riverdale, Ill.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Royal Center Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
