ROBERT MAPPIN, 47, ROYAL CENTER RESIDENT; DIES AT LOCAL HOSPITAL

ROYAL CENTER--Final rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Harrison funeral home for Robert D. Mappin, 47, lifelong resident of Royal Center, who died at 3 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's hospital, Logansport.

Rev. R.H. Bonewitz will officiate and burial will be in the Royal Center cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.

Born here on April 23, 1910, he was the son of Chester A. and Ethel Oswalt Mappin. In 1935 he married Valda Fry, who survives.

The deceased was a transit driver for Ritz Mobile Homes at the time of his death. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge; Knights of Pythias, Disabled Amercian Veterans, Eastern Star, Lions club and the Royal Center EUB church.

Surviving besides his wife are a son, Douglas, of Royal Center; three sisters, Mrs. Isabelle Herrick, Logansport; Mrs. Fern Hatfield, Logansport; and Mrs. Hazel Minnick, Brubank, California. Also a grandmother, Mrs. Iva Oswalt, Royal Center, one grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
