Marian Marley McCrummen, 85, of Austin passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019. She was born in Austin on August 13, 1933 to James B. and Etta (Gilbert) Marley.
She attended Austin High, St. Stephen's Episcopal School and U.T. While in school, she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Marian met and married Thomas Dodson McCrummen, Jr., and they had three children. She was president of the Junior League of Austin, a board member at St. Stephen's and St. Andrew's schools and was a board member at Recording for the Blind. She was an avid reader, loved her pets and enjoyed gardening, traveling and playing bridge with her friends.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dodson McCrummen, Jr, and her son, Thomas Dodson McCrummen, III.
She is survived by her daughter, Claire Elizabeth McCrummen; son, James Gilbert McCrummen; grandchildren, Stephen Coleman McCrummen, Andrew Thomas McCrummen; sister Diane Dailey; daughter-in-law Ann Coleman McCrummen and her faithful companion (dog) Rusty.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, January 14, 2019 in the chapel of Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar.
