Milton Gene Autry, age 55, died Friday, January 18, 2019 in the UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Born February 27, 1963 in Forsyth County to the late Milton Lavonn and Dorothy Louise Bordeaux Autry. Gene was a retired logistics technician with the US Army National Guard after serving for 32 years. He enjoyed writing songs and was often inspired by one word in a movie or conversation.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Riverside Cemetery Extension in Smithfield.

Surviving are his wife, Ju Lien Autry; sons, Joshua Sebastian Autry and wife Alejandra, Nathaniel Keith Autry, Jonathan Alexander Autry and Tavis Darrick Wymer all of Smithfield and Andrew William Autry and wife Tania of Fort Hood, TX; daughters, Victoria Elena Autry and Jewel Lili Wymer both of Smithfield and Jasmine Nadine Wymer of Fort Riley, KS; brothers, Stuart Autry of Winston-Salem and Tony Autry of Selma; sisters, Rose A. Evans of Kannapolis and Crystal A. Gaines of Kernersville and two grandchildren, Jade Jenkins and Gabriella Autry.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the funeral home.
