She was the wife of the late Howard W. Mackley.
Born Dec. 26, 1917, in Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Paul W. and Ethel Viola Garner Edwards.
Mrs. Mackley was a graduate of Western Maryland College. She was a retired teacher with Carroll County Public Schools, where she taught French at South Carroll High School for many years.
She enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Surviving are two sons, James W. Mackley of Tokyo and Daniel F. Mackley of Frederick; four daughters, Judith A. Griffith and Barbara A. Henderson, both of Baltimore, Martha L. Wagner of Gettysburg, and Ellen G. McNulty of Columbia; one brother, Francis Edwards of Englewood, Fla.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, at Haight Funeral Home, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8. Interment will be in Springfield Cemetery, Sykesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Winfield Volunteer Fire Co., 1320 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, Md. 21784.
