He was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Stafford. Was an E.M.T. and a first responder. Bill had volunteered at - Hospice, Stafford County Museum and Meals on Wheels. He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America. The recipient of the Shepherd's Hook Award.
On February 5, 1954 he married Phyllis Mayberry at Wichita. She died November 24, 2010. He is survived by grandchildren: Amanda Lee and Jeff Rich. Sister: Leota Belle Buchanan. Four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son: Phillip and brothers: Donald, Ralph, Everett and Leo.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3 at First Baptist Church, Stafford. Cremation has taken place. Burial of the ashes will be at Stafford Cemetery with Military Honors. Friends may sign the family book Friday 1-7 p.m. with the family receiving friends Friday 5-7 p.m. at Minnis Chapel, Stafford. Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church or Meals on Wheels in care of the chapel.
