On the evening of January 15th, 2019, after a battle with cancer, Connie Sue Lovejoy went home to be with the Lord. Although her time on this earth was brief, she was able to be a mother, an interpreter for the deaf and an influence in her neighborhood. Connie was very generous toward those who were in need. She was the mother of four, grandmother of eight and great-grandmother to five. She will be missed.
Connie was born on October 15, 1945, in Charleston, she was the daughter of John Dencil and Dessie Marie Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Howard David “Tud”; sisters, Betty Fields and Mayble Ann Anderson and grandson, Andrew Tyler Harper.
Survivors include her sons, Richard (Kimberly), Andy (Misty) and Philip (Jennifer); her daughter, Cassandra (Doug) Escue; grandchildren, Charity Harper, D.J. and Zachary Escue, Cara Elizabeth Hager, Courtney and Tre Harper, Emma Harper; her great-grandchildren, Mallory and Darren Escue, and James and Adalynn Hager and her brother, Ervin (Sonya) Anderson.
There will be a short funeral service at Cunningham Funeral home Friday the 18th at 10:00AM. There will be no viewing.
Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home is serving the Harper Family.
In lieu of flowers, those who would like to give, please make donations in memory of Connie Lovejoy to HospiceCare 1606 Kanawha Blvd., W. Charleston, WV 25312-2536. We would like to thank the hospice team, especially Brittany and Thea, for being a blessing to our family.
