On Oct 11, 1896, Cora married John Henry Henson in Patton, Missouri, but were soon separated by John's military service which took him to the Philippines. After his return they lived and worked together on their farm in Union, Missouri, while raising four children.
By 1920, John and Cora decided to relocate to Delta, Colorado where her favorite sister, Rosanna Berry, had moved with her husband Steve and family, ten years earlier. At that time they still had three of their four children living at home.
Cora and John never regretted their move to Delta, and enjoyed many years of financial and personal success as is obvious in snapshots taken near their large home. Relatives, as well as their married children and their families enjoyed visiting often.
But sadly, after only eight short years in Colorado, kidney disease took Cora from her loving husband John. She died on Mar 21, 1928 and was buried in the Delta Municipal Cemetery. She was survived by John, all four of her children, and five grandchildren.
