Barbara Gail Moisa, 58, passed on January 16, 2019, at the Grove Fox Valley. She was born October 26, 1960, in Aurora to Andrew and Maxine Moisa.
She was a graduate of Hope Wall school. She made her home for many years as a resident in an A.I.D. housing association for individuals who needed assistance with disabilities. She enjoyed many activities with them and Fox Valley Special Recreation and the S.T.A.R.S. program. She loved to bowl, was a big fan of auto racing, and was even able to meet the famous driver Marco Andretti. She was also a fan of the Chicago Bears and the White Sox.
Barbara is survived by her aunt Terry Schaffner; godmother and cousin Carol (Stan) Carpenter; a very special friend Paul Flaming; and many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parent Andrew and Maxine Moisa; brother David Moisa; maternal grandparents Alvin and Evelyn Schaffner; paternal grandparents Andrew and Mary Moisa; and her godfather and uncle Robert Schaffner.
The family wishes to thank The Grove, Rainbow Hospice, Andy Roche, Jo Dell Myers, Gary Piccony, and Lanie Bauer and Stephanie Berkner of Life Care Innovations for their wonderful support for Barbara and Carol.
Memorials can be made to Rainbow Hospice or Fox Valley Special Recreation in Barbara’s name.
Funeral mass will be held Friday, January 25, 2019 at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 432 East Downer Place, Aurora, with Fr. Tim Piasecki will officiate, with interment to follow at Marywood Cemetery, in Aurora, IL.
